Don Antczak and Antczak Construction receive
'Conservation Leadership Award'

(Reprinted from Nov. 2001 Chronotype News Article)

The Conservation Leadership Award for Barron County in 2001 went to Don Antczak and Antczak Construction. For many years, Antczak Construction has been one of the largest earth-moving contractors in the Barron and Rusk County areas, but the fact that they are the leader in construction site erosion control measures also sets Antczak Construction apart from many others, said county conservation officials.
There are numerous earth-moving contractors in Barron County; some use construction site erosion control, some do not. However, Don Antczak and Antczak Construction make construction site erosion control a priority in their business, conservationists said. Owner Don Antczak includes construction site erosion control measures in each bid he submits and he promotes these conservation measures when he talks to his customers. Antczak Construction installs silt fences, straw-bale fences, builds sediment basins and seeds and mulches disturbed land as a normal part of doing business.

Don Antczak was a member of the advisory committee for the Barron County Land and Water Resource Management Plan. he has also participated in several construction site erosion control workshops held by the Soil and Water Conservation Department, demonstrating his equipment and promoted the use of construction site erosion control with other contractors.
